Come as you are.

Your story has a place in therapy.

I'm Naomi Briley, a licensed marriage and family therapist. I work with women of color, teenagers, and the parents raising them.

You don't need to know where to start, or how to explain it yet.

Who I work with

Therapy that makes room for where you come from.

Often the people holding everything together for everyone else. I see individuals, couples and families, ages 10 and up.

Women of color

New motherhood. A career that stopped fitting. A relationship ending. The exhaustion of being the strong one in rooms not built for you.

Teens and young adults

School pressure, friendships, and the things that are harder to say out loud. I spent years in a hospital teen clinic. Very little surprises me.

Parents and caregivers

You are trying to give your child something you did not receive yourself. We work on the relationship, not the behavior.

What we can work on

You do not have to arrive with the right words for it.

Some people know exactly what is wrong. Others just know something is off. Both are a fine place to start.

  • Anxiety and panic
  • Depression
  • Trauma and its aftereffects
  • Life transitions, chosen and unchosen
  • Divorce and separation
  • Family conflict
  • Parenting and caregiving
  • School stress and friendship trouble
  • Self-esteem
  • Work and career pressure
  • Women's mental health
  • Stress that stopped being manageable

I draw on cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment-based and family systems work, dialectical behavior therapy, and narrative therapy, chosen to fit you rather than the other way around.

I do this work to support clients, specifically adolescents and women of color, with navigating life's most difficult moments and healing from trauma, all while exploring and realizing their full potential.

About Naomi

Twelve years before the therapy room.

Before I became a therapist I worked in the non-profit world, on social justice and civil rights. That background is not decoration. It shapes how I listen, and it means you will not have to explain the context of your life before we can get to work.

My goal is to leave you with self-healing tools you can use for a lifetime. I am currently training in somatic healing and EMDR.

Sliding scale

I keep a small number of reduced-fee places. Ask me on the consultation call, and please do ask. It's a normal question and I would rather you did.

The first step is a conversation, not a commitment.

Fifteen minutes on the phone. You tell me what is going on, and I tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it.
